Blue Backspace is an online writing space about arts and entertainment (primarily video games) and its surrounding online culture. It was originally created by Jillian Caulfield in September 2016. In August 2021, Quint Iverson updated the website and rehosted it here!
Jillian Caulfield is an arts and culture writer, mixed media artist, and the creator of blue backspace. They are particularly interested in the ways art and people shape each other -- the social contexts art is created in, reflects, addresses and shapes, and what meaning art can have to us as people. You can read the work they've written for blue backspace, and find more about them (and find more of their writing) on their personal website.
Quint Iverson is a filmmaker and writer. You can read the work he's created for blue backspace or his college's newspaper The Pacific Index.
The forum-style emoticons you see around our website were made by tempodrone, which we're using under a GPL v.3.0 license. Thanks for letting others use your work!
